January – Choosing of second semester post-secondary Scholarship – please ask Bonita for form, see info below
February – Ron Kenney Memorial Crib Night 6:30pm – phone for date but usually 2nd Thursday of February
come one, all welcome who like to play a friendly tournament whose prize is the much covetted place on the Rosebud Lions Plaque.
April – Spring Flapjack Fiesta Fundraiser for Hospice
June – Spouses'/Friends NightHall and Playground Cleanup First Monday
– Induction – change over of officers
August – Community BBQ at the Firehall
September – meeting suspended because of harvest however other committees may meet.
November to February the Rosebud Lions support Community Bingo fundraisers by doing 6:00 pm Spaghetti supper (Debit/credit machine available) before 7:00 pm Bingo games start (Cash only), – phone 403–820–2870 for dates
All funds raised go into projects such as:
the Wheatland Hospice Facility, the Drumheller Health Facility and the lodge bus in Strathmore.
Rosebud Lions Scholarship Any young adult who is from the Rosebud fire district (Highway 564 South to Highway 9, Redland area to Highway 842) can apply for a $500 scholarship that is awarded after the completion of a semester of post-secondary schooling. Application Form due by October and usually awarded by February. Upon receiving this scholarship it is possible to gain a matching scholarship upon the student submitting additional information to Lions International. Contact your Lions President or Secretary or Treasurer for more information.
Support our local youth in various sports and youth events
We give to supply candy bags for the Christmas Community Concert, swimming lessons at Wheatland Crossing School, a trophy for the Drumheller Music Festival and the local 4–H beef sale trophy.
Rosebud Centennial Museum such time and monies toward the 2025 Patio project, 2024 Walking Tour Original Settlers Signs, 2023 Point Of Sale system.
Assist the Rosebud Memorial Hall with projects such as the wheelchair lift and holding spaghetti suppers to increase attendence at Bingos. Recently finished a pledge of $20,000 donation to the East Wheatland School project over the course of three years.
Help do Rosebud Fire Association fundraising for replacement fire apparatus and cylinder filling station.
Community Service Projects such as wheelchair ramp alterations to a house in Redland, build the gazebo, maintain community entrance signs. Give twice yearly $750 donations to the Wheatland and Area Food Bank and the Drumheller Food Bank.

Historically we have been involved in large infrastructure projects such as the 1953 planting of 400 trees at Severn Resevoir, 100 year Hymas Farm celebration, running of the Stock Car Track for 6 years, numerous BBQs, dances and other fundraisers, also the original Centennial project that moved, refurbished and then renovated and added on to our local museum, the purchase of the Severn School and renovations to become the Rosebud Recreation Centre which eventually was transferred to the Memorial Hall.
