RSA Alumni and Playwriting Alumni,

Rosebud School of the Arts is pleased to announce
an RSA Pilot Project in Film 333: Introduction to Screenwriting.

Fall 2021: the focus will be Writing for Sitcom.

Film 333 is an introduction to screenwriting through three components:
1) A survey of screenplays and their productions in tandem, with a particular focus on Ins Choi’s Kim’s Convenience produced by CBC. Screenplay reading and episode/film watching will be completed outside of class time.
2) Second section will focus on the nuts and bolts of screenplay structure, formatting and visual storytelling.
3) The final—and largest—section will be writing. Writing will take place primarily during class time, where we will write as a group, working on scenes and reading them together.

The course prioritizes process over product and emphasizes writing as a team. Will take an idea from inception to a completed pilot episode screenplay.
